Why does a Saturday porta potty rental show up on Friday?
A Saturday porta potty rental shows up Friday because no driver can promise an exact arrival time. Traffic, a stuck gate or a slow stop earlier on the route can push a truck back by 1 hour or more. A Friday drop means the porta potty is in place before your first guest arrives.
Think about the worst case. A truck backing into your driveway at 2 p.m. on Saturday, while guests are parking and the bounce house is running. We never want to risk that.
So we work backward from your event. The unit goes out the day before, and sometimes two days before.
Do the extra Friday and Monday days cost more?
No. The extra Friday and Monday days cost nothing more, so a 4-day stretch keeps the same rate. A weekend rental is a flat rate per drop-off and pickup, not a per-day meter. Your itemized quote shows the unit, the rental period, delivery, pickup, any service and tax, and the invoice matches that quote.
One caller in our study asked, "is it per day or for the whole time?" For short rentals, it is for the whole time. The day, weekend or week rate covers the full stretch from drop-off to pickup.
See the cost guide for what goes on an itemized quote.

Call (972) 812-6200Get quoteHow common are weekend event dates in porta potty calls?
Weekend dates are very common. In our 2026 study of 172 live porta potty calls, about 1 in 3 event callers had a Saturday or Sunday date. Home parties and backyard gatherings were the largest group of callers at 33%, or 56 of 172 calls.
In our 2026 call study, we reviewed 185 recorded porta potty rental calls, and 172 reached a live conversation. Here is how the weekend picture looked.
| What we saw | Share of live calls | Count |
|---|---|---|
| Home parties and backyard gatherings | 33% | 56 of 172 |
| Community, church, corporate and park events | 20% | 34 of 172 |
| Weddings | 5% | 8 of 172 |
| Needed delivery today or tomorrow | 19% | 32 of 172 |
About 1 in 3 event callers named a Saturday or Sunday date. Many of the today-or-tomorrow calls came from people whose first vendor did not show up.
When should I book a porta potty for a weekend event?
Book a weekend porta potty by Wednesday. That gives us 2 days to plan Thursday and Friday routes around every weekend drop. Calls on Thursday or Friday can still work, and same-day delivery is possible Monday through Saturday when a truck and unit are free, but the odds drop as the week fills.
| Day | What happens |
|---|---|
| Wednesday | Your booking and placement notes are in. Routes for Thursday and Friday get built. |
| Thursday or Friday | Driver calls 30–60 minutes ahead, then sets the unit on your marked spot. |
| Saturday or Sunday | Your event. The unit is clean, stocked and already in place. |
| Monday | Driver picks up. You do not need to be home. |

How does pickup work for a Sunday event when your office is closed Sunday?
Our office is open Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and closed Sunday. For a Sunday event, the porta potty arrives Friday or Saturday and gets picked up Monday. You get the unit for the whole weekend without paying for extra days.
Sunday church picnics and family reunions fit this pattern well. Leave the unit where the driver set it, and leave the gate open or text the code for Monday.
Is a porta potty safe sitting in my yard Friday night?
Yes, in most cases. A porta potty on private property, out of the street, rarely gets bothered overnight. For parks, church lots and open sites, we add a hasp and padlock free on request. In spring storm season, ask for a stake tie-down so wind cannot tip the 175-pound unit.

- Keep the unit on your side of the property line, not on the sidewalk or in the street.
- Lock it until the event starts if the spot is public.
- Check our placement guide for spacing from food and fences.
What if my event runs Friday through Sunday?
For a Friday-through-Sunday event, we usually drop the porta potty Thursday and pick it up Monday. Event units arrive cleaned and fully stocked. With a big crowd across 3 days, add a mid-event service visit. We quote that visit before you pay, so the price does not change later.
Use our sizing method for the count: 1 standard unit per 50 guests for up to 4 hours, plus extra units for longer events and alcohol. The sizing calculator does the math. City events with 100 or more people a day in Plano may also need a City of Plano special event permit.
